Shubman Gill is known for his tendency for big runs and hence he was drafted into India U-19 side as Vice-Captain for the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup. At the time he received the prestigious player of the Tournament Award.

Shubman is a right-hand top-order batsman from Punjab. He is the young talented Cricketer in Indian Team. His inclination towards achieving big runs is the motto that makes him self-driven and goal oriented.

Shubman Gill was born on 8th September 1999 to Lakhwinder Singh and Keart Singh in Fazilka, Punjab into a Jat family. His father was a farmer and he prepared a Cricket ground in his farm for Gill’s practice. In the early days seen Shubman’s passion for the Cricket, his father left the farming and moved to Mohali to make Shubman a professional Cricketer. There he admitted Shubman in Punjab Cricket Association’s Academy.

He made his U-16 debut for Punjab where he scored an unbeaten double-century in Vijay Merchant Trophy. In 2014, he scored 351 runs in Punjab’s Inter-District U-16 competition. Later in that year, He received the BCCI award for the best junior Cricketer for two consecutive years 2013-14 and 2014-15 while he shared stage with his idol Virat Kohli.

While his first-class debut for Punjab in 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, he scored his maiden century by scoring 129 runs in the second match. Later in 2018, he made his T20 debut when bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL Auction.

By January 2019, Gill has scored his 1000 runs in first-class Cricket from fifteen innings. Also, he was the leading run-scorer in 2018-19 Ranji Trophy with 728 runs from five matches. He won Emerging Player pf the Tournament Award in 2019 IPL.





Carrera internacional
During his pick for the national U-19 side, he amassed 351 runs in four innings in Youth ODI series played against England and named man of the series. ICC named Gill as the rising star of the squad. In August 2019, Gill set a record as the youngest Indian batsman to score a double century in a first-class match. Gill made his Test debut in December 2020 against Australia and his Twenty20 International debut in January 2023 against Sri Lanka. He became the fifth Indian Batsman to hit the double century in ODI’s and the youngest batsman in international Cricket to achieve this milestone.
